Linocut and woodblock prints inspired by nature, history, and rural life.

Handmade in the Mountain State of West Virginia.

What, why, and how

I make prints inspired by the places I encounter on my journeys throughout West Virginia.

I’m passionate about rural places and the towns I work with every day as a community development consultant. Serving these towns is why I get up in the morning, so it’s no surprise that the scenes and stories from these places—both past and present—find their way into my art.

My prints typically start with a drawing, often based on a historical photo. After transferring my drawing to a block of either linoleum or plywood, I carve the detailed image using chisels and gouges. I then ink up the block and print the final piece on archival paper using a hand-cranked relief printing press.
